"Money is not the source of wealth..."
MISSION | Fivestar works to restore the spiritual richness of hardworking individuals. Many highly-talented professionals arrive at a common dilemma:
If I am working so hard and performing well, then why do I still suffer deep, chronic pain?
Fivestar began as a project to educate individuals about the history of health, wealth, and wellness. We primarily utilize Traditional Chinese Medical theory to resolve chronic pain, release deep trauma, and enhance overall life satisfaction.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
is a comprehensive, scholarly understanding of the body. TCM has been developed and perfected over 3000 years. During the Zhou dynasty, martial and medical scholars found surprising similarities between the natural world and the internal body. For example, the veins of the lungs resembled branches of a tree.
The principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine have been integrated into many various arts (see below), and sees health through a holistic perspective. For more detailed information about the history of TCM, visit this page.
Here are just three examples of small decisions, charged with the wisdom of TCM
1) moving your desk to a south-facing window for your circadian rhythm
2) drinking hot water to calm the vagus nerve and support digestive function
3) using vocal techniques to regulate para-sympathetic response
Five Element Theory is a cosmological perspective of the world. These cosmological principles illuminate connections between all matters in the world. If we understand how these elements function in the natural world, then we better understand how they function in the human body.
The typical sequence of 金木水火土 has a natural rhythm in Chinese. Metal refers to hardening, shedding, or concentrating. Wood is its contrary force and refers to expansion. Water refers to fluidity, flow, and flexibility. Fire is its contrary force and refers to determination and passion. Earth is the venue where all the elements meet, and represents balance or harmony.
Over the course of history, many people have integrated Five-Element theory into their arts. If we understand these principles well, we can better understand how to design our architecture, education, and even writing. Five Element theory helps us become better cooks and teachers, better artists and administrators, and even better learners and lovers.
Although there are Eight Healing Arts presented here at FIVESTAR, consider that five-element theory can be integrated into any artistic or functional endeavor. One goal of this project is to equip all people- regardless of educational level or privilege-- with an intellectual foundation to promote their success and wellbeing in all areas of life.
